Pamela Sue Stevenson-Wheeler was born November 24, 1952 in Kansas
City, Kansas to Farley Stevenson and Curtis Helen Allen-Stevenson.
Pamela grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Washington
High School in the Class of 1970. After high school she began to work
at AT&T in various positions. In 1989 she transferred with her job to
Atlanta, Georgia where she worked as a Designer Assembler until she
retired in 2002 after thirty-two years of service. After returning
home to Kansas City, Kansas she worked at Birch Telecom as a
Provisioning Order Administrator, and she also worked at Vinone’s as a
part-time Sales Associate. Pamela and Ronnell dated in the late
1970’s, their lives came full circle when they reconnected in 2015.
Pamela and Ronnell later married on August 6, 2016. They were happily
married for one year and eleven months. Pamela enjoyed traveling,
musicals, theatrical plays, jazz music and concerts. Her favorite
female singer was Anita Baker, her favorite male singer was Will
Downing. When living in Atlanta she met her good friend, Hattie
DeShazo, who she traveled with to New York for the Essence Awards,
London, and Paris. Pamela was very particular about her clothing. She
had her own personal seamstress, Betty Williams her friend of over
forty years. She will be sadly missed by her cousin, Wilbert Stevenson
and his wife Gail who she attended concerts with. Her very good
friends Robert and Gwen Edgerson of Ocoee, Florida, who she visited
yearly. Her good friend, Marcella Lee of Phoenix, Arizona; Her
long-time friends Rosa Elmore; Linda Buckner; Vania Ford; and Willa
McKinney. Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, Farley and
Curtis Stevenson; sisters, Betty Anthony, Cornelia Lee, Murla Depriest;
brothers, Farley Stevenson, Jr. and Allen Stevenson. Pamela leaves to
cherish her memory her husband, Ronnell Wheeler of Kansas City,
Kansas; her brother, Zeldon Tippy Stevenson of Kansas City, Kansas; a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. |
