Graveside services for Vicky Jean
Buck Ware, 56, rural Valley Falls, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in
Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Mrs. Ware died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at Jefferson County Geriatrics
Center in Winchester. She was born Jan. 28, 1952, in Kansas
City, Kan., the daughter of Ralph Eugene and Betty Marie Cook Owens.
She graduated from Kansas City-Washington High School in 1970. She
moved from Kansas City, Kan., to the Boyle community of rural Valley
Falls in 2006. Mrs. Ware worked as a bartender at many
establishments in Kansas City, Kan., for many years. She married
Edward “Ed” James Ware on Sept. 14, 2001, in Oskaloosa. He survives,
of the home. Other survivors include her father and stepmother,
Ralph Eugene and Clara Owens, Oskaloosa; a daughter, Randi Lynn
Hufford, Clearwater, Fla.; two stepsons, Edward James Ware III, Valley
Falls, and Adam Justin Ware, Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Sandra A.
Rickey, Tonganoxie; and five grandchildren. Friends may call
from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, where
the family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today. The
