John W. Sledd, Age: 71 - Just after 7am on
Tuesday June 11, 2024 the man, the myth, the legend, John William
Sledd 71, won the race to the other side. He was met by his parents
John & Helene Sledd, his good friend Bob Peterie, and his other
favorite Bob, a loyal yellow lab. He was the FIRST of his siblings
Rose Peterie, Tom (Clara) Sledd, Rick Sledd, and David (Barb) Sledd to
cross the finish line in this game of life. He is survived by his
grandson Leo Sledd 5, his 3 daughters Samantha 36, Kimbra 41, Holli
48, his stepson John Mellies 46, his loving life partner Connie White
Green, their beloved silver lab Floyd, and around 40 collections of
who knows what.
John Sledd was born August 15, 1952 and had
been preparing the people around him for his passing since the days he
worked in law enforcement. It was both sudden and unexpected, and
shockingly, not due to his motorcycle or getting lost and nearly
drowned in the Big Niangua River. After a brief illness, John left
this earth exactly as he wanted, quickly and peacefully. He was happy
with what he’d accomplished and content with life he’d led. |
