John Wesley Cobbins Jr. was born on May
4, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas to John and Rosie Sims Cobbins. John
grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Washington High
School in Kansas City, Kansas 1970. After high school John join the
United States Army in 1971 and served for 3 years. He served in Korea
and was the recipient of Armed Forces Expeditionary, National Defense
Service Medals. He received an honorable discharged in 1974 achieving
the rank of SP4.
John worked for various trucking companies in
the Kansas City area, the Wyandotte County Road and Bridge, and the
Central Parking System.
John Wesley Cobbins Jr. passed away on
January 6, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
John was preceded in death by his parents John Cobbins and Rosie Sims
Cobbins.
He leaves to cherish his memories four sons, John
Cobbins (Kara) of Madison, Wisconsin; Deon Cobbins (LaTrice) of
Lenexa, Kansas; Christopher Cobbins (Alisha) of Lafayette, Indiana;
and Andre Cobbins (Nicole) of Henderson Nevada; two sisters, Marie
Thompson; and Mabeline Gordon (Elbert) both of Kansas City, Kansas;
three brothers, Robert Cobbins (Jessie) of Lenexa, Kansas; Ralph
Cobbins of Vacaville, California; and Anthony Cobbins (Roxanna) of
Kansas City, Kansas; John has ten grandchildren; and two great
grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. |
